[Web10g-user] web10g in linode server

Arvind,

I'm not aware of any significant issues with using Web10G with a VM.
Much of the early testing was done in a VM environment. As for the
kernel booting issue: Have you been able to get the Web10G kernel to
boot at all? Is it just not booting into Web10G by default?

I would check your grub configuration file to make sure that the default
is pointing to the Web10G kernel. If you just want to test the web10g
kernel without making it the default I'd do the following:

Identify the menu position of the web10g kernel (in this case we'll say
it's in the 1 position).
As root type "grub"
In the grub CLI type "savedefault --default=1 --once"
Quit and reboot.

It will boot the kernel in the 1th position only once. That way if the
kernel fails it will revert to the default on the next boot.
